NewtonX Partners with Women In Research (WIRe) to Elevate Industry Equity
November 8, 2023
NewtonX is excited to announce our deepening partnership with Women In Research (WIRe). WIRe is an international community providing educational networking events and resources to elevate women and diverse communities in research.
We’re committed to equity-oriented professional development and collaborating with industry communities who are paving the way. After over a year of hosting WIRe events for the NYC community, extending the partnership was only natural. In the fall of 2023, NewtonX will be sponsoring eight seats for WIRe Accelerate, a multi-module, virtual program designed for woman professionals to advance their careers.
Cheers to our inaugural cohort: Aleksandra Artyfikiewicz, Catherine Vandenberg, Des Fountain, Ipek Kavasoglu, Jodi Gilman Jones, Maisy Spence-Sharpe, Megan Harms, Sonseray Reed.
The WIRe Accelerate program was born out of a simple statement. “I wish I’d known….” Said time and time again at the 2019 WIRexec UK Summit, it became clear that there was a gap between what woman leaders in the industry had been taught and the professional development concepts that had proven most valuable.
Module content ranges from the concrete — lessons on OKR’s, ROI, and career path planning — to the personal, with a special focus on the life changing tips and challenges that women face. Built with parents, caregivers, and students in mind, each module can be completed in under two hours and there is no set timeline for completion.
We’re looking forward to building a community and industry of support with WIRe and equipping our team with a robust network and skillsets to leverage down the road.
